What is Warmboard made of?
Warmboard-S is a structural radiant panel that is 1 1/8″ thick, made of Douglas Fir 7 ply plywood, and is sold in full-faced tongue and groove 4′ x 8′ sheets.
How does Warmboard work?
A radiant panel works by conducting heat from water in a tube to the surface of your floor and into your home. It’s that simple. This is why conductivity is the single most important thermodynamic property of a radiant system.
Is floor heating effective?
When radiant heating is located in the floor, it is often called radiant floor heating or simply floor heating. Radiant heating has a number of advantages. It is more efficient than baseboard heating and usually more efficient than forced-air heating because it eliminates duct losses.

It is a 1 1/8” thick radiant panel that provides unmatched response, energy efficiency and comfort. The thickness of the 7-ply plywood panel also means you can install it as a structural subfloor.
Can Warmboard be used for cooling?
The aquifer also serves as the cooling source by cycling the cool water through the Warmboard tubes. On warmer days and in the few locations where solar gain contributes to increased load on the system, CTA has auxiliary cooling in place, as well as computerized monitoring to control condensation.
Can you cool with Warmboard?
We can keep our bedroom cool during the day, and turn down the kitchen when the sun shines in. And of course, all this is programmed into our thermostats now, so we can save energy and experience more comfort. Working with the Warmboard team was so easy.
